Braga is the oldest city in Portugal and one of the oldest Christian cities in the world, with more than 2000 years of history. Located in northern Portugal, more specifically in Vale do Cávado, Braga is the "capital of the Minho. It is located in the heart of Minho region and has more than one million residents.
It is a city full of culture and traditions, where history and religion live side by side with the technology industry. The city is closely connected with the whole Minho Region. In the North lies the traditional Minho, while in the East there is the National Park of Peneda-Gerês. The manor lands of Basto lie to the south in the industrial area and in the West there is the Minhoto coastline.
The National Park, Peneda-Gerês, is one of the greatest natural attractions of Portugal, with rare and stunning natural beauty. The ecological value shows in the variety of wildlife (deer, wild horses, wolves, birds of prey) and flora (pine, yew, chestnut, oaks and various medicinal plants).
