    Palácio Belmonte *****

    The meticulous restoration of a 15th-century palace built into the ancient walls of São Jorge castle and overlooking Alfama and the river has resulted in this exclusive 8-suite hotel. The palace itself, built in 1870, was once the home of the count of Valancas and is surrounded by tranquil gardens.
