Magnificent landscapes with white sandy beaches

Portugal is famous for its beaches, but the best ones are yet to be discovered, here on the Tróia peninsula. Stretching in uninterrupted natural beauty, touched only by the ocean, they are an open invitation to enjoy Nature at its best.

Time and the elements formed these dunes over centuries. Native plants prevent erosion, maintaining the natural equilibrium and character of the landscape. Wooden walkways lead directly to the ocean: pathways through paradise. Tróia’s special location allows a unique mix of vegetation, where palm trees grow alongside pine forests, providing havens for a rich diversity of plant and animal life

Sail away

The vast Atlantic sparkles invitingly. The wind is – as usual – just right: perfect for yachtsmen to put to sea. Sailing is a great sport and, as sailors will tell you, crewing brings people together like nothing else.

Beginners can learn the basics in safe waters, while more advanced learners can test their skill on the open sea and experienced sailors can use Tróia as starting point for longer voyages.

The sunny side of life

Between the Central Area and Tróia’s exclusive golf course are miles of soft sand beaches, ideal for soaking up the sun and the sea. Detached villas offer views over the beach and the ocean. Attractive landscaped grounds in a newly-created lakeland area offer varying views and vistas. Townhouses have a more peaceful setting, the perfect place for young families.

Enjoy every moment

Feel the warm sand under your body, the light breeze in your hair. Take time to look around: to the south, the golf course and to the east, the new lake. Towards the setting sun in the west, the dunes and the ocean. This is no dream, this is Tróia.

The wonderful beaches are a natural treasure of the Tróia peninsula. Their white sand dunes and silvery grasses create a unique, fascinating landscape. The sparkling sea is rich in mussels and other shellfish and a rich variety of fish: Nature at its unspoiled best.

A white villa at the ocean

Travelling is fun, but there is no place like home. Here, in your villa at Tróia, generously-sized rooms reflect the breadth of the landscape, creating a comfortable home environment, while the spacious terraces encourage indoor/outdoor living: the best of both worlds.

In the heat of the day, relax under the shade of a covered terrace or stroll to one of the nearby beach bars and enjoy a long, cool drink. It’s good to be home!

Water sports

Here at Tróia, the ocean is your playground. Jet-ski across the water or ride the waves on a surf board. Skim the surface on water-skis or simply swim in the surf. Perhaps water polo is your preference? Whatever you want, you can do it here.

Learning new skills, brushing up techniques or just having fun – there is always something to do in this water wonderland. Experienced, qualified instructors are on hand for surfing, kiting and water ski-ing – and the social life is great, too!
For those who prefer the fascinating world under water, local conditions are ideal for snorkelling and scuba diving.

Tee off with a good view

In the heart of Troiaresort lies one of the most interesting and also most demanding golf courses in Portugal, situated in fabulous scenery right at the seashore with a backdrop of shining mountains. A gentle breeze from the ocean accompanies you around the course, carrying the scent of pine and wild flowers.

The low-handicap golfer will recognize the distinctive style of Robert Trent Jones Senior in the layout of fairways and greens on this par-72 championship course. After the challenges of the game, relax in the clubhouse or the adjoining first-class Resort Hotel which includes exclusive spa facilities.

A delicate scent of pines and eucalyptus

Strong colours and strange shapes: the Tróia landscape is full of surprises! As the golden sun moves across the endless blue sky, it changes the hues of the trees, the meadows, the beaches. Here, it is only natural to forget everyday life, to leave stress and worries behind, to be at one with Nature.

More than 2000 years ago, Romans settled along the salt pans and lagoons of Tróia. Archaeological excavations have revealed foundation walls of a Roman thermal bath and a harbour. A walk through the ruins brings the past to life, as impressive then as Troiaresort is today.

Inspired by nature

Reflecting the beauty and character of the surrounding environment, the colours, textures and materials will create supportive environments for living life to the full.

The demands and expectations of residents are met with a grace and sophistication that complements the effortless beauty, strength and timelessness of Nature. The result is the best of the natural world from outside, brought into houses, to make them into harmonious homes.

In the land of kings and mariners

The area surrounding Troiaresort boasts diverse landscapes and interesting historical towns. Along the coast are harbours and salt pans, while inland you can find typical picturesque villages, vineyards and olive groves, all waiting to be discovered and explored. In nearby Sesimbra, for instance, you can enjoy freshly-caught fish on the quay-side.

In the countryside you can sample virgin olive oil, smoked ham and delicious cheeses, all prepared as they have been for centuries.
The numerous castles, palaces and mansions, rich with art treasures, are tributes to ancient kings and mariners.

Nostalgia and the contemporary life

In Lisbon, old and new exist cheek by jowl, weaving a special fascination. The older parts of the city such as Bairro Alto and Alfama are noted for their narrow streets and flights of ancient steps leading to further delights. Small shops and bars, cafes and restaurants tempt you to stay awhile.

Linger, soak in the atmosphere, sample the delights – but make sure you ride on the famous Electro 28 tram that runs through the city, giving you a view of the old and new that make up life in Lisbon!

Glorious arcades, palaces and towers

Lisbon’s rich past is told in its beautiful buildings and fascinating museums. Its bridges are superb feats of engineering; its churches and monasteries boast magnificent architecture. Arcades and palaces flank the historic Praça do Comércio, just as lively now as in its heyday.

By night, Lisbon can be lively or romantic: choose from bars and nightclubs in the former docks or a stroll through riverside gardens.

Salute

Portugal is famous for Fado, that melancholy, soulful music that touches the heart. While the Fado culture lives on, and reaches an international market, it does so alongside home-grown musical groups and top-level pop and classical concerts, fashionable bars and nightclubs: the new generation of Lisbon’s musical heritage.

Traditional shopping heart of Lisbon is down-town Chiado, recently restored to its former glory, but Lisbon also boasts some of Europe’s best modern shopping centres. Whatever you want, you’ll find it in Lisbon!

The character of Lisbon and its people is a unique mix of a laid-back southern European approach to life with an international, progressive approach to business. This delightful blend of tradition and modernity makes Lisbon a lively, colourful place, proud of its roots and yet eager for the future.
